Langford Farms Club director of tennis Brad Herrington has been appointed head tennis coach for upper school boys and girls effective immediately. With 15 years of coaching experience on the court, he is the current co-owner and director of tennis at Langford Farms Club in Old Hickory, Tennessee.
"Lipscomb Academy is blessed to have Coach Herrington’s expertise and knowledge of the game as he works to continue the development of our upper school tennis team,” stated Jake House, athletic director. “He has a genuine passion for kids and desire to transform the lives of our student-athletes.”
Tennis coach to both juniors and adults, Herrington specializes in developing foundational skills, dynamic footwork, and high-percentage winning tacticals. He is a competitive U.S. Tennis Association (USTA) player and recipient of multiple 4.0 doubles, 55-and-older, Nashville division team titles.

Herrington is a certified instructor as a U.S. Professional Tennis Registry (USPTR) Level I and USTA 10 and under.
Prior to ownership of Langford Farms, Herrington was an executive level leader in global medical imaging sales and marketing. He spent 25 years in the industry before pivoting to pursue a different passion. Raising two children that played competitive high school tennis, Herrington now focuses on fostering the love of tennis in his players.
Herrington earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology from the University of Akron, completed an internship in biomedical engineering, and received an executive MBA in leadership from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
Ryan Nicolaus will continue as middle school head tennis coach.
