Lipscomb Academy Bowling Team Wins State Championship

Caroline Scott

After an undefeated season, the Lipscomb Academy Bowling Team went on to win State this past Friday morning.

On top of taking home the Bowling State Championship as a team, Jenna Hedgepath, Lipscomb Academy Senior brought home the Girl’s Individual State Championship trophy.

"I didn't know how this season was going to go," said Hedgepath, who rolled a 237 in her lone American 10-pin game. "This was our school's first season that we were co-ed. I'm the only girls starter on the team. At first, it took a minute for us to mold together, but at the end, we pulled it off."

Head Coach, Diana Benson, wrote "Jenna is such a determined individual not only on the lanes but also in every other aspect of her life.  She works hard at everything she does and finishing her senior year off with another Individual State Title shows just how driven and determined she is.  I couldn’t be more proud of her!" Jenna has committed to joining Vanderbilts Bowling Team upon graduation.

We also congratulate our individual boy competitors who finished 10th, 12th, 18th, and 24th in the state!

What an incredible honor for an incredible team. Let’s hear your Mustang Spirit, join us in congratulating these state champions!
