Family Assistance Information
While providing an independent school education for a child is first and foremost a commitment and responsibility of parents, Lipscomb Academy provides need-based family assistance to families who qualify. This family assistance helps to offset the cost of attendance, but does not cover the entire cost of attendance amount.
Lipscomb Academy partners with Clarity to make the determination of family need. Household income and expenses, net worth, assets, and debts of the parents or guardians are some of the factors considered in determining family assistance. Need-based family assistance is awarded annually, and renewal is not automatic or guaranteed as each family’s finances and our budget may vary from year to year.
How EFS Works with Lipscomb Academy Financial Aid
Starting with the 2026–2027 school year, families applying for need-based financial assistance at Lipscomb Academy will be required to show that they have applied for the Tennessee Education Freedom Scholarship (EFS). If your student is awarded both EFS and need-based financial aid from Lipscomb Academy:
- Your total tuition responsibility will not increase.
- The EFS scholarship will replace a portion (or all) of your financial aid award.
- Any remaining EFS funds may be applied directly to tuition.
For Example:
- If your student receives $10,000 in financial assistance and is awarded a $7,295 EFS Scholarship, your total support remains $10,000. In this case, $7,295 would come from EFS, and the remaining $2,705 would be provided through Lipscomb Academy financial aid.
- If your student receives $5,000 in financial assistance and is awarded a $7,295 EFS Scholarship, the scholarship will cover the full $5,000 financial aid award, and the additional $2,295 may be applied toward tuition.
